Competency-Based Digital Onboarding Assessment

A scenario-based assessment that measures whether new hires can apply judgment, not just recall information.

What it is

A scenario-based digital assessment that presents new employees with realistic workplace situations, asks them to choose a response, and gives immediate feedback on the impact of that decision. It measures quality of judgment, alignment with company standards and risk awareness, rather than memory.

Why, when, and what it solves

Why I created it

Early onboarding rarely fails from a lack of information. It fails when new hires make poor decisions in real situations. This checks readiness to work independently before that becomes a problem.

When to use it

During a new hire’s first thirty to forty-five days, to gauge early decision making and readiness to operate with less supervision.

The problem it solves

It reduces early onboarding failures by surfacing who is genuinely ready and who needs more support, with a remediation path framed as improvement rather than punishment.
